Let's put it this way, if you go to a home builder and ask them "How much for a house?" The reply you will get is "it depends." It depends on whether you want a ranch or a two story. Two bedrooms or four bedrooms. A car port or a three car garage.

The same goes for web sites. Do you want a straight-forward brochure-type of web site that announces your company, its products and services and a contact form, or do you want electronic commerce with a catalog server and back-end legacy data connectivity. IoWeb can do all of these, but the prices vary significantly.

For your benefit, however, here is a basic idea of our fees for a web site. We try to keep the cost-effective and simple.

In all cases we assume that you have spent a lot of time and money with an advertising agency to create your corporate "voice", positioning and logo. We will take these valuable assets to create a web site that is consistent with all your marketing and promotion efforts. People should not be confused when they visit your web site after they have seen your web address on TV or in a printed ad.

What You Get Price Approximately 3 pages Home page - about you and your company Products and Services - a quick discussion of your products and/or services Contact Form - a way for people to request more information. $140.00 Programming Contact Form - The web page that is the contact form is not complete until a program is written to process the information, and deliver to you via email. We will write this program to your specifications. $50.00 Total Price - This is a one-time fee to get your site designed and set-up. $190.00

What This Includes

• Scanning - if you have marketing assets that are photographs, or other pictures that you can not get to us in electronic format - no problem. We have scanners, we can use them. NO EXTRA COST.

• Data entry - we prefer to get all your text delivered on a diskette, or some other electronic means, but if you can't provide it to us, we will key it in if it is not an overwhelming amount of information. Please note that this may delay the delivery of your site with all the extra inputting.

• Tables, frames, etc. - you shouldn't have to worry about the technology we deploy to build your web site. We'll use whatever it takes, you concentrate on business.

• Statistic Reports - you will have access to a weekly and monthly statistic report. This will include a lot of valuable information on the popularity of your site.

• Unlimited bandwidth - We strive to build a very popular site for our customers. Some companies will charge for the amount of network utilized. So, in order to keep your fluctuating monthly fees as low as possible, you'll want to keep your site from being accessed as often. Without your site being accessed, you won't be able to lure new customers, or sell product. This makes no sense to us at all. Network utilization incurs no extra fees.

• Email aliasing - Once you have set-up your domain name. We can then use it to create email addresses for your business cards, letterhead, and - of course - your web site. You must have an email account with a service provider of your choice (America Online, AT&T, etc.). We will set up an address using your domain name, and forward mail to that account. You can have as many of these aliases as you want - no extra fees.

What This DOES NOT Include

• Search engine indexing - There are currently over 2,000 search engines on the web. We will work with you to develop a "search engine friendly" site (including META tags) and get your site into the top search engines in the world (including such notables as Yahoo!, Excite, InfoSeek, Northern Lights, Lycos and more) for a one-time fee of $900.00. Some development companies will charge you per hour, or per search engine.

• Domain Name - We will help research and request a domain name for you. This is the www.your-company.com that you see being used. The fees associated with this are currently $70.00 for the first two years to register the name, and $35.00 per year thereafter to renew the registration. These fees are currently payable to Network Solutions, Inc. of Hearndon, VA for most of the names used by U.S. companies.
  PLEASE NOTE: There are some companies that will charge you a fee to register these domain names. Although we feel that a company has the right to charge for services, you must understand that the registration process takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. Even a modest $10 fee means the company thinks they need to make $300 per hour - think about that. Renewing a domain name takes about as long as it takes to write a check.

  IoWeb will gladly register your domain for no fees to us, if we end up developing your site. You are responsible for the InterNIC fees, but that just helps establish ownership - the domain name is yours - period. If we register your domain name, then you chose another web firm, our fee is $20.00.

Other Fees

• Maintenance - A current web site, is a good web site. We would like to establish a long-term relationship with all of our clients to help keep your site current. We have two basic plans for ongoing maintenance:

  • Unlimited changes - for one monthly fee, IoWeb will make all the changes to the delivered site for no fees. Some companies will charge as much as $20 per change, or will have different fees for scanning changes vs. text changes. With the unlimited plan, you don't have to worry about any more fees.

  • Per change fee - Although we prefer the unlimited plan, there are some cases when your site will change infrequently enough where you can save money by paying for each change request, and save money in the long run. Our fee is $5.00 for every change, every where we have to make it.

  • Base monthly fee - if we host your site, there is a base fee associated with every web site. This base fee can be as low as $15.00

  The specific costs will vary depending on the size of the site we build. Our typical site will cost approximately $50 to $75 per month.

• Hourly fees - As your site realizes successes, we can expand the functionality of your site with more web pages and/or programs. Our hourly fee is $50 per hour.
